Important because; A well constructed, good quality house means that it will last you for years without issues or costly maintenance fix ups.
But how do you know if it’s average quality, or excellent quality? A good builder will pride themselves on excellent quality. Have a look at photos of their work and look for attention to detail. Ask people that have previously built with them about the finished product. Most importantly, check with local building industry associations (eg, HIA-Housing Industry Association, MBA-Master Builders Association), to see if the builder has won awards for construction excellence...and if they have, was it a one off or do they consistently win awards for building excellence?
